The seeds of K. S. RANGASAMY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY were sown in the year 1984 by Lion. Dr. K.S. Rangasamy, MJF, procuring upliftment to the poor and needy, and also to shower the rays of wisdom to the society through technical education. The unique feature that delineates the ever-increasing merits of this Institution, well-suit the expectations of modern technical arena. The College indicates an important stage in the development of the services of the K.S.R. Educational and Charitable Trust.Lion.Dr.K.S.Rangasamy is the illustrious son of late Thiru.Senimalai Gounder and Thirumathi Pachaiammal. He hails from an agricultural family, his native place being Karuveppampatti, near Tiruchengode, Namakkal District. Though he had undergone only primary education, he had fully understood the significance of education.
In a short span of time, he became a dynamic and multi-faceted business man. In spite of his wealth and fame, his desire to acquire systematic education remained unfulfilled. He started thinking about providing education to the poor people of his locality.
Lion Dr.K.S.Rangasamy’s astounding role in the field of education has earned him the title ‘Kalvi Rathna’. His love and affection towards fellow human beings has led him to the title ‘Manitha Neyar’, one who loves humanity. He has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by the West University of USA, in honour of his exemplary contribution to education. In recognition of his noble services, he has been honoured by Arutselvar Dr.N.Mahalingam with the title of ‘Kongu Nattu Sadhanaiyalar’
