Located in Sundaravel Sivaguru Charitable Trust and ;Sankaralingam Bhuvaneswari Trust;that ;were registered under the society registration act started Sankaralingam Bhuvaneswari College of Pharmacy in the year 1988. Sri S.S.Sankaralingam, the founder of the institution, is a man who is being loved by people of all categories. He believes that service to mankind is service to God and hence he started his service through these charitable trusts. He believed that education is very important to improve the standard ofpoor people. He is much worried about health and health care systems available to them. For these reasons, he started this Pharmacy College.There is no doubt that the institution exhibited excellent performances and brought all the dreams andbeliefs of the founder true. The institution has broughtout well trained young potential Pharmacists and are placed in various positions all over the world. Mr. S.Sriram Ashok, B.E., the Correspondent of the college took a long lead in the field of Pharmaceutical Research and Development. Due to the awareness of this young man on Research and Development, the Laboratories of the institution were modernised with advanced equipments to facilitate the research works. It is true that the encouragement of the correspondent is the potential energy of research works carried out here., The campus is located at Thiruthangal, which is 3 Kms north of Sivakasi. Sivakasi is fondly called, as "The Little Japan" is popular for firecrackers and matches. It is one among the few business cities in South India. Apart from firecrackers it is also popular for the world class quality printing technology. Sivikasi is only 70 Kms from Madurai, which is famous for the heritage of India and temples, and it is richly supplied with road and rail transports. The campus is located in a pollution free, peaceful environment essential to build up a healthy career. We believe that education is incomplete without discipline. The institution is confident in making a complete man and hence a disciplinary committee maintains the discipline of the institution. The Government of Tamilnadu is approved Sankaralingam Bhuvaneswari College of Pharmacy. The Diploma in Pharmacy Course was approved by Health and families welfare Department vide G.O.M.S.1631 dated 21-08-1987. The B.Pharmacy course is approved by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) New Delhi and Recognised by PCI (Pharmacy Council of India) New Delhi, in their resolution No:51/PCI/742 dated 11-12-90. The Tamilnadu government approved the college vide G.OM.S NO: 731 dated 06-07-1992 and affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R.Medical university, Chennai. The B.Pharmacy course is of four years duration (Non-Semester), for which The Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, conducts the qualifying examinations.The students completing this degree are eligible to register as Pharmacist and practice the profession throughout India as per the rules and regulations of Pharmacy council of India. Through this degree program the students are well trained to work in hospitals as well as in pharmaceutical manufacturing and analytical units. Apart from the usual curriculam, the college provides practical training in Pharmaceutical industries and in hospitals all over India.
