The polytechnic college has been commenced in the year 2007, with an intention of granting opportunity for all the students to bolster their educational aspirations and seek to flourish their interpersonal skills.The college is located in a serene 23-acre campus, lush and green in the Pudukkottai Madurai highway at Lena Vilaku, a suburb of Pudukkottai District.The college is affliated by dote and and approved by AICTE , New Delhi. The Library of Chendhuran College of Engineering & Technology has set its vision 'to satisfy the user community' The 3 main sections of the Library.
1) The stock room with reference section.
2) The reading hall with periodicals section.
3) The circulation reprography administration section.
The unique feature of our library is the compulsory library hour, which is included in the student's timetable one hour per week for each class . It gives the students ample time to use the Library facility.
READING HALL
The reading hall has been provided in the library to create a conducive atmosphere to read. The reading hall consists of comfortable tables and chairs with seating capacity of 100 persons. Students and faculty members are permitted to bring books, stocks & journals from periodicals section and to use the reading hall for doing reference work.
STOCK ROOM
The stock room is equipped with multidecked open adjustable modern book stock for housing the books for reference and lending. All the books are mostly classified to Dewy s Decimal Classification. Bay guides are available to access the books easily and all the books are arranged properly with bar coding facility. Open access system is followed to make the process of locating books very easy to the users. The Library is fully automated and OPAC facility is provided.
REFERENCE SECTION (BOOKS)
The Library consists of about 13,500 reference books on all six Engineering branches and also Science, Humanities, English, General, Dictionaries and Encyclopedia. The libraries also have a collection of rare books from inland and overseas.
COMPETITIVE GUIDES
A number of guides are available in both reference and issues section for preparation of competitive exams like GATE, UPSC, TNPSC EXAMS, TOFEL, GRE, GMAT and other similar exams.
AUDIO VISUAL AIDS AND REPROGRAPHY
Audiovisual section of the college Central Library consists of 3000 CD ROM DISKETTES, more than 100 Floppies. These help students to improve their communications skills and to prepare for the competitive exams like TOFEL, GRE etc.
The department has good infrastructural facilities and is equipped with full fledged laboratories to cover the all branches.
Sports facilities are available in the campus. Annual Sports event is held in the month of December in every year
The Institution provides bus facility to the students and the faculty members for commuting from various points in the district and also from the suburbs like Karaikudi, to the campus and back. All students can make use of the transport. This facility has made it possible to start the classes in time and thereby helping the academic process. The bus facilities have enabled the institution to maintain discipline among students. All the buses reach the Campus before 9.10a.m., so that all the students and faculty can get ready to attend the classes at 9.20a.m.The buses leave the campus at 5p.m., which helps all the students to reach home early and safely.
Two well designed separate hostels are situated in the campus for boys &Girls. The hostels are surrounded by lush greenery, lawns and have excellent facilities. Four seater rooms, two seater rooms and single rooms are available. Excellent food is served.
