In the year 1984, Muthayammal Educational Trust was established to create higher educational facilities to poor rural people who could not go to towns and cities in pursuit of higher education.

The trust is started by Mr.R.Ramasamy as a Chairman, Mr. R .Premkumar M.A.,MPhil., as a Secretary and Mr. R. Vijay kumar B.E., Msc as a Treasurer.

In the year 1984, the Trust entered its first Foot-print with Muthayammal Polytechnic College. Its second Foot -print with M.R Matriculation Hr sec school Chennai in the year 1987. Its Third Foot -print with Muthayammal Industrial Training Institute in the year 1999.Its Fourth Foot -print with Muthayammal Memorial College of arts and science in the year 2014.
