It is run by the NADAR EDUCATIONAL TRUST, Erode.The trust secured the approval of the Government of Tamil Nadu Vide G.O.M.S. No. 380/dt. 23.07.97 and of the Bharathaiar University, Coimbature Vide University Letter No. 11435 / A1 / 97. The college came into existence with a good strength of students and offering Seven undergraduate courses and Three post Graduate courses.All the courses encourage the students to face the challenges of the present day and leave well equipped with the capability to enter a new life with confidence. Of all the ideal services in the world, the first and foremost one is Education. The Nadar Kalvi Arakkattalai [Nadar Educational Trust] was mainly started to remove illiteracy of masses in the villages in and around Erode district. This charitable trust was registered in 23.02.1995. By the efforts and interests of this trust, Karuppannan Mariappan College was started with Government recognition in 23.07.1997. It is a co-educational institution, offering Arts and Science subjects. The affiliation was granted to this college by the Bharathiar University on 17.11.1997. This college was started for the upliftment of the oppressed suppressed and downtrodden people in rural areas, without any profit motive, without any political affinity but with service motto. Sixty members of the Trust started this college to provide quality Education to the rural masses., Karuppannan Mariappan College (KMC), Tirupur was established in 1997 with the prime objective of providing effective & efficient education. The college is affiliated to Bharathiar University and is Accredited by NAAC. The college is approved by govt. of Tamil Nadu. The main aim of Institute is complete personality development of the student Extra-Curricular and Co-curricular activities go hand in hand with academic programmes.
