About Periyar University College Of Arts And Science, Harur

Periyar University College of Arts and Science, Harur was started by Government of Tamil Nadu by GO Perm No: 35, dated on 18-07-2011. It is a constituent college of Periyar University and affiliated on 22-07-2011 situated Harur Taluk which is educationally most backward area. So, the Government put forth the step to develop this area in Education. The College is located at next to Harur GH in Morappur Main Road in 3 acres of land and it is running in its own premises.

The College started its academic career from 2011 with four Under Graduate courses. They are BA, English., BCom, BSc, Botany and BSc, Computer Science. In 2016, one more Under Graduate course BSc, Mathematics was started. Further, in 2017 One UG BA Tamil and One PG Course MA English were started, At present a total of 953 students are studying in the above courses.

The Mission of our college is to create the students to play an active role in making our nation as a fore-runner in all fields and educate, ensure and empower to avoid the superstitious beliefs in human rights and self employment.
