Velammal College of Management and Computer Studies is located in Lal Bahadur Shastry block (opposite Puzhal Lake) in Surapet Village, 7 km from Ambattur. Established in 1995, the college is affiliated to the University of Madras. It is managed by the Velammal Educational Trust. The college offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programs. The college has well equipped classrooms, computer center, library, seminal hall and auditorium, cafeteria, and medical center. It organizes industrial visits, guest lectures, seminars, and a Management Development Programme (MDP). Separate hostels are available for boys and girls.

Velammal College of Management had been set up with a vision to promote an educational institute of international reputation, with global standards as its benchmark. It endeavors to educate the student community, both by theory and practice, to fit into the society and conquer the latest technology at global level, while cherishing human values.
