Located in MANDATE Sri Nallalaghu Nadar Polytechnic College, a Self financing institution, sponsored by Chennai Vazh Nadargal Sangam and managed by Kamaraj Education and Research Foundation is offering full time 3 year diploma engineering courses as per Directorate Of Technical Education norms, curriculum and evaluation system with the objective of catering to the present industrial needs to students of secondary and post secondary level., Philanthropic minded Nadars of Chennai, with the main objective to establish educational institute, formed the CHENNAI VAZH NADARGAL SANGAM in the year 1966 with the liberal contribution of the members, a vast area of 41 acres of land was acquired in the Chennai, Nellore Trunk Road, just 16km from Chennai., Sri. A.N. Srinivasaga Nadar and his brothers Sri. A.N. Ramasamy Nadar and Sri. A.N. Govindasamy Nadar contributed a sizeable amount to start the first educational institute of the Sangam, in memory of their beloved father Sri . TVA Nallalaghu Nadar., Accordingly SRI NALLALAGHU POLYTECHNIC was started in December 1983 as per G.O.Ms. No.2163 ESt dated 15-11-1983 of the Government of Tamil Nadu as a Self financing institution, On 9-12-1983, the KAMARAJ EDUCATION & RESEARCH FOUNDATION was formed by the Chennai Vazh Nadargal Sangam to manage the Sri Nallalaghu Polytechnic under the able guidance of its trustees. Sri Nallalaghu Polytechnic was inaugurated on 9-12-1983 at I.I.E.T Campus Kodambakkam, Chennai -600 024. Where it temporarily functioned till 30th August 1984 and then it was shifted to its own place at Puzhal.
