Established in the cultural capital of India, the lovely city of Chennai, the Institution is run by professionals and experienced teachers in the field of Fashion Design and Interior Design.The Institute is headed by Mrs.Sujatha Nair, an MSc and MPhil in Textiles and Clothing, with many years of experience in teaching Fashion Design and Garment Construction as well as in running Fashion Institutes. She is extremely passionate towards the subject of design. In her own words- "There is no greater joy than to inculcate in young minds, the love to create, the courage to innovate, the desire to express and the knowledge to bring their visions to life." IAFD & Kalakriti differentiates itself from other institutes by focusing on the practical aspects and trimming the theory to that which is necessary, so that the student is industry ready on completion of the course and also gains the confidence to launch their own fashion label or interior design service. M/s Manonmaniam Sundaranar University has recognized the quality of IAFD and granted it recognition as an Associated Study centre to offer its DE Diploma, PG Diploma & BSc courses in Fashion Design, Interior Design and Jewellery Design as well as MBA courses in Retail Management and Fasshion Management.
