The Journalism and Mass Communication program attracts a certain kind of student. You are curious. You want to get to the truth. You see stories everywhere. And you want to capture them in words or pictures or both. You may want to be a reporter, columnist, photojournalist, public relations specialist or advertising copywriter. The aim of University Centre for Media Research is to help you get there.

Welcome to the Centre for Media Research at Shobhit University. Our mission over the next few years is simple: To take this young journalism centre and make it the best in the northern India and one of the few truly elite journalism programs in the country. And while that may seem like an ambitious plan, we're already well underway. Over the next few years we will be adding top journalists and scholars to the faculty. We will be building a reporting bureau where our best students will be preparing stories and packages for newspapers, TV newscasts, radio reports and news Web sites around the region. But all of that is truly just the beginning. We have plans for new programmes that will specialize in coverage of social issues, business journalism, journalism ethics, health and medical reporting, media management and news diversity.

And we will be putting into place a structure to ensure that our students get the best internships and jobs possible because, after all, the most important measure of our program is where our students go after graduation.
