Course Information & Syllabus
The M. Tech. course in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources Engineering shall consist of four (4) semesters. The first two semesters shall consist of Lectures and Practical on basic core subjects like advance Mathematics and Statistics , Flow Modeling, Fluvial Hydraulics, Hydrological Processes & Modeling, Design of Dams and Diversion Works, Ground Water Engineering, Water Resources Planning and System Engineering ,Design of canals and related hydraulic structures, Water Resources Engineering Labs, and elective subjects like Water Governance and Policy issues, Integrated River Basin Planning and Management, Ground Water Quality Modeling, Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing Application in Water Resources Engineering, Optimization Techniques in Water Resources, On-farm Water Management, River Engineering and Flood Management , Climate Impact on Water Resources , Socio – economic and Environmental Impact Assessment of Water Resources Projects. The third semester shall consist of seminar, project and dissertation which shall be continued in the fourth semester also.
