Eligibility Criteria for RTE UP Admissions
To be eligible for RTE admissions in UP, the child must meet the following criteria:
- The child must be between the ages of 6 and 14 years.
- The annual family income of the child must be less than Rs. 1 Lakh.
- The child must belong to a socially and economically disadvantaged group, such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Other Backward Classes.
- The child must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
RTE UP Admission Process
The admission process for RTE UP admissions is as follows:
- Application: Parents or guardians must submit an application form to the schools of their choice. The application form can usually be obtained from the school itself or from the local government education office.
- Documents: Along with the application form, parents or guardians must submit proof of age, residence, and income.
- Lottery: If the number of applications exceeds the number of available seats, a lottery system is used to select the candidates.
- Admission: The selected candidates are then granted admission to the school.
It is important to note that RTE UP admissions are only applicable to classes 1 to 8. The RTE Act does not provide for admissions in the nursery or pre-nursery classes.
