Bihar NTSE
Candidates who are studying in Class X are eligible to apply for the Stage I examination organized by the State. The Class X NTSE stage-I 2019 examination for Bihar state will be conducted as per the schedule given below.
Application Form
Application Form of Bihar NTSE 2019-2020 will be available. Application forms can be downloaded from the official website. Students can also download the Bihar NTSE application form through the direct link, which will be updated here on this page, as soon as the conducting body releases the notification regarding application form. Candidates are advised to cross-check the eligibility criteria and conditions before filling the downloaded application form.
Application fee –
As per last year, the application fee is as follows-
- General Category: 100/-
- SC/ST and other disabled category: 50/-
Note: Candidate belonging to SC/ OBC Category has to attach the attested copy of the certificate regarding reserved caste issued by SDM/Tehsildar with the Application Form.
Eligibility
All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage-l examination, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction. In case the awardee is not able to appear at the examination due to serious illness, one should send the medical certificate through the Head of the Institution within three months of his/her falling ill. The duration of illness should be clearly certified by a specialist, who is a Registered Medical Practitioner.
Exam Pattern
Stage I & II: Examination at the State/UT level will comprise two papers i.e
Paper I: Mental Ability Test (MAT): Consisting of 100 questions for 100 Marks.
Paper II: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): Candidates have to answer the 100 Questions in 120 minutes for 100 Marks.

Bihar NTSE Cut Off
Candidates have to obtain the minimum cut-off marks to qualify for the NTSE exam. The qualifying marks for candidates from SC/ST/PH category is 32% in each paper and for other (General/OBC & EWS) Categories it is 40% in each paper.
Selection Procedure
Identification of talent comprises a two-stage selection process. While the individual State/UT conducts the first stage selection, the second stage selection at the national level is carried out by the NCERT.
State Level Exam: State-level examination may have two parts: Part-I Mental Ability Test (MAT) and PartII Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) for nominating the required number of candidates for the second level test to be conducted by the NCERT.
National Level Exam: Only the candidates selected by the States/UTs on the basis of their screening examination shall be eligible to appear in the National level examination to be conducted by the NCERT on the Second Sunday of May each year (unless otherwise notified).
For selecting the students, the following conditions may apply:
The students of General / OBC & EWS categories must pass each paper with at least 40% marks. For the SC/ST/PH students, this cut-off will be 32% marks in each paper.
