Located in Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology (SKIT) is an attempt to usher into technological revolution by using modem management techniques and harnessing potentials of rural India. The contribution of the Great Saint Swami Keshvanand Ji who devoted his life for the cause of education and Gramothan always inspired us and therefore, the Institute was named after the great saint. The establishment of SKIT by the 'Technocrats and Managers Society for advanced Learning and Gramothan", is an endeavor by team of professionals, technocrats, academicians, social workers and industrialists. It is a multidisciplinary institute, in its first phase, and engineering college has been established. Society has ambitious plans to make the institute as one of the best in the state among private institutions. The college building when completed will have 24 lecture theaters, 16 tutorial rooms, 24 laboratories, a modern library, a computer center and 6 workshops. The adequate hostel residence facilities are provided for boy and girls on campus. In this pioneer attempt professionals who have contributed include : Shri K. Ram (IPS) Shri Hanuman Prashad, IAS (Retd.), Prof. G.R. Verma (USA) Hon'ble Justice (Retd.) M.A.A. Khan, Shri D.P. Lamba, Shri M.R. Fulfagar, Shri Surendra Bhandari, Prof. R.S. Nirjar, Shri Anil Bama and Shri K.R. Bagaria., Our Chief Patron Shri Raja Ram Meel, a leading industrialist and social worker, a modem Bhama Shah, contributed liberally to start the institute. His philanthropic attitude is legendary. Beside setting up a model Residential High School at Suratgarh he has contributed in the establishment of about 50 rural educational institutes. Shri K. Ram (IPS) Inspired and guided in starting the institute. He is dedicated to promote education in the rural area. He has done pioneer work in setting up a model higher secondary , Gramin Vidyapith at Nagaur. ( a residential school for girls). He firmly believes that India's future lies in promoting education and technical knowledge,particularly among rural youth. Shri Hanuman Prasad, a legendary IAS officer, who retired as chairman RPSC, contributed managerial skills to the institute. Justice (Retd.) M.A.A. Khan, an ex-judge of Rajasthan High Court contributed his legal expertise in setting up the society., Shri G.R. Verma, a Professor in Rodhe University (USA), is a legendary son of Rajasthan, who not only is guiding the institute in technical matters but also contributes his time and money. Shri Anil Bafana, a senior chartered accountant and financial consultant prepared comprehensive project report for the institute., Shri K.R. Bagaria, a senior CA, is working as the Director of SKIT. It has been his endeavor to secure clearances from Government of Rajasthan, AICTE and University of Rajasthan Prof. R.S. Nirjar, former Principal of MREC, (the present secretary of AICTE) while working at Jaipur inspired us to work for promoting technical education., Shri D.P Lamba, a Civil. Engineer and Shri M.R. Fulfagar, a builder, did tireless work in planning and implementing the building plans of the Institute. A large number of our associates/friends have been constant source of inspiration in contributing funds and providing technical guidance. The society is committed to create the best infrastructure for curricular, extracurricular and sports activities and appoint capable dedicated faculty to ensure complete personality development of the students, as was done by Swami Keshvanand Ji who devoted his whole life for the cause of education and, rural development.
