Shree Lakshmi Narayan Ayurvedic College, Amritsar was established by Late Shri Pujya Pt.Mayadhari Ji Shastri, who was a renowned Ayurvedacharya and Philanthropist of North India. This college is managed by Shree Durgiana Education Foundation, Amritsar since 1972. Initially, it was running the course( with syllabus )prescribed by Bharat Varsheeya Ayurved Vidyapeeth, Delhi. Thereafter, it got affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar in 1976 for B.A.M.S. course as prescribed by Central Council Of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.

It is one of the oldest and esteemed institute in Ayurveda which has delivered many renowned ayurvedic physicians, surgeons,gynae and experts of various specialties. Our institute has bagged many P.G. seats not only in Punjab but also throughout India. Our institute takes keen interest in participating in seminars,workshops,co-curricular activities, sports not only in the state but at the national level also. All the departments of the institute are computerized and facility of projectors,audio visual aids is also there. The Institute is committed to provide the best education and affordable health services.

The institute is run by Shree Durgiana Education Foundation and is recognized by Central Council Of Indian Medicine and Ministry Of Ayush,Govt.Of India and is affilliated to Guru Ravidas Ayurved University Hoshiarpur,Punjab.
The Institute has well equipped 14 Departments as per CCIM and duly qualified teaching faculty, a 60 bedded hospital which runs 24 X 7, clinical OPDs well equipped operation theatre,labour room, X-ray deptt., clinical laboratory,ultrasonography, which serves economical treatments .Our pharmacy manufacture pure ayurvedic drugs.
The Managing committee is all out to provide best of infrastructure and other facility to the institute.
Ayurveda is an Indian system of Medicine (ISM) erupted since time immemorial and its survival for thousands of years, is a reason sufficient to believe its efficacy & acceptance. Ayurveda means Ayu + Ved—-a ved of life . This explains about Body, Mind and Soul too. The only Healing Science which quotes the importance and links about Body (Sharir). Mind (Mun) & Soul (Atma).
The eras of egoistic and divisive parallelism in medical world have passed and the pluralistic type of health care has evolved and is being accepted the world over. Iatrogenic problems is the major havoc in the present medicine. Moreover, Ayurveda has also an edge over chronic diseases and metabolic disorders.
The post-independence socio-political and economic approaches to Ayurveda has not given the desirable results.
The establishment of CCIM and Ministry of AYUSH and present socio-political multiplanner thought process about health care can prove a big boon to reflourish Ayurveda. The present Government is bent upon to develop AYUSH. Ayurveda is by default Indian . This opportunity may not recur. Lets run.
