Punjab Institute of Textile Technology, Amristar PITT, one of the oldest and pioneer institutes of India was established in 1920 by the Punjab Government. It is working under the Directorate of Technical Education and Industrial Training Technical Education Wing, Punjab and is affiliated to the Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Chanidgarh. PITT is situated in the holy city of Amritsar, on the GT Road, opposite Guru Nanak Dev University. The institute is at a distance of about four kilometers from the Amritsar Railway Station and about six kilometers from the Amritsar Bus Stand, spread over an area of about 12.5 areas, PITT has beautifully laid out campus., It has sufficient infrastructure in the form of workshops for spinning, weaving, mechanical and carpentry workshop and laboratories for inspection and quality control, Dyeing and printing, Textile Designing and Computer Centre, Edusat Room, LRUC room, Communication lab.
