Punjab Government Dental College and Hospital, Amritsar is a renowned college and a dental hospital of the state of Punjab. The college offers a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) course. The duration of the course is four years. The students who have attained 17 years of the age on 31 December of the year of admission are eligible to take admission in the college.

Other eligibility criteria's for admission in the institute are the students have to be the residents of the state of Punjab and should have passed the Pre-Medical Examination of Punjab universities or an equivalent examination held by another Indian University or the candidate should have qualified Senior Secondary (10+2) examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate of Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English and 45% for SC/ST candidates. To get admitted in the college tha students have to qualify in theCommon Competitive Entrance Examination (PMT) held in the month of June. The examination centers for the examination are at Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, Faridkot, Hoshiarpur, Bhatinda, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Patiala, and Jalandhar. The Punjab Government Dental Hospital, Amritsar was established in 1952. The dental hospital has ten beds in total for both males and females. Since 55 years the hospital has been serving the patients suffering from various dental problems. It provides all types of dental medical facilities to its patients that is carried on by the by the 25 efficient Doctors, and 6 dedicated Nurses and also the fourth class staff members.
