Paper I Translation Theory - 1.1 Definitions, Scope Basic concepts and Terminology of Translation Studies - 1.2 Instrumental and Hermeneutic Concepts of Translation. - 1.3 Theories of Jakobson, Nida and Lefevere - 1.4 Types and Strategies of Translation Paper II Translation Problems and Solutions - 2.1 Semantics, Morphology, Syntax, Seven Types of Meaning, Three word Power, Use of Dictionaries - 2.2 Concept of Equivalence, Translatability - 2.3 Translation of Languages,Literature and Cultures - 2.4 Information Technology, Science, Advertisements, Movies - Dubbing, Subtitling Paper III Translation Practice Paper IV Project and Viva-Voce - 4.1 Any Literary or Non-literary Text of minimum 100-125 pages to be translated - 4.2 Viva – Voce related to the Project Work. (Project 70 marks, Viva-Voce 30 marks)
