PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh Department of Applied Sciences The department comprises sections of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Geology & Humanities. The department offers core courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Geology and Humanities (Women in Third World development, Sociology, Micro Economics, Public Administration, Management Concepts & Practices, Entrepreneurship, Business Environment & Industrial Legislation, Economic Reforms in India, Organizational Behavior and Corporate Finance to all the undergraduate students. In addition several courses in Mathematics e.g. Numerical Analysis, Probability & Statistics and Discrete Mathematics are offered to select branches of undergraduate engineering according to the prescribed curriculum. Courses in Advanced Mathematics and Environmental Engineering Chemistry are offered to postgraduate students of various branches of engineering. The department provides facilities for research leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Commerce, Finance & Management and Engineering Geology. The department has well equipped laboratories to impart practical training to the students in the field of Physics, Chemistry and Engineering Geology.
