Our College is the brain child of Padmabhusan Dr.RadhanathRath. It is established in the year 1990. Dr.RadhanathaRath was the founder President of the College and Mrs.Manorama Mohapatra eminent social worker and the ex- editor of The Samaj was the working president of this College till 2004. The sole aim of the college is to facilitate the women education in Athgarh locality where the women literacy percentage was below average., Since its inception the institute has empowered its students with all-round development, thus establishment in various important sectors of the society., The institution aptly named after Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das. Late Padmabhushan Dr. Radhanath Rath and other associates gave birth to their brain child, Gopabandhu Women's College, Athgarh, Cuttack realizing the long cherished hope of Athgarh people where women literacy percentage was very low.
