Delhi University (DU) has initiated the admission process for three new post-graduate courses – MA in Hindu Studies, Chinese Studies, and PG Diploma in Cyber Security & Law. The registration window for these programs is open until September 30. These courses are designed to amalgamate traditional knowledge, particularly in Hindu philosophy, with contemporary subjects like computer science, informatics, commerce, and political science. Moreover, they aim to equip students with proficiency in Chinese language and acquaint them with the latest developments in the cyber world. The programs emphasize preparing students for modern career prospects while fostering a deep understanding of the Hindu ethos.
MA in Hindu Studies
This postgraduate program offers a total of 60 seats, distributed as follows:
- Unreserved category: 24 seats
- SC (Scheduled Caste): 9 seats
- ST (Scheduled Tribe): 5 seats
- OBC (Other Backward Classes): 16 seats
- EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): 6 seats
Admission Fee:
- UR/OBC-NCL/EWS/SC/ST candidates: Rs 8,960
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Rs 2,240
Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in any field are eligible to apply for this program.
MA in Chinese Studies
Admission to the MA in Chinese Studies program has also commenced. The eligibility criteria for this program are as follows:
- A Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university in India or a foreign university with at least 50% marks, along with a one-year (full-time) postgraduate Intensive Advanced Diploma Course in Chinese conducted by the University of Delhi or a UGC-recognized university. OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chinese from any recognized university in India or a foreign university with a minimum of 15 years of education, along with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate or an equivalence course in Chinese.
There are a total of 49 seats available for this program, with seats allocated according to categories:
- General category: 19 seats
- SC (Scheduled Caste): 7 seats
- ST (Scheduled Tribe): 4 seats
- OBC (Other Backward Classes): 13 seats
- EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): 6 seats
PG Diploma in Cyber Security & Law
Admission to the PG Diploma in Cyber Security & Law will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree examination. Graduates with degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Software Development, Computer Engineering, or equivalent fields are eligible to apply.
There are a total of 64 seats available for this program, with seats allocated as follows:
