Professors K.S. Krishna, Professor at the Centre for Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS), School of Physics, University of Hyderabad has been invited as Member of Research Advisory Committees (RACs) to guide the research activities of national laboratory, the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR). This appointment has the approval of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi. Prof. B J Rao, Vice-Chancellor, UoH said, “This is absolutely a rare accomplishment and proud moment for the CEOAS in the university. I congratulate Prof. Krishna and wish him the best to make a beneficial impact on the RAC at NCPOR”.

Prof. K.S. Krishna, who specializes in Marine Geophysics for understanding the Structure and Tectonics of the Indian Ocean, has been invited to serve on RAC of National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), Goa. Prof. Krishna’s vast experience on Lithospheric Dynamics and matters related to Legal Continental Shelf (LCS) for extending the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) on both sides of the Indian landmass would be helpful to setup new experiments in polar and oceanic regions, and to make a strong case for claiming additional seabed territory on Indian continental margins at the United Nations Hq, New York.
