Aligarh, June 23: During the Covid-19 Wave I in 2020, Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association of Greater Chicago (AMUAA-GC), USA generously donated to AMU for the purchase of internet data, electronic devices such as laptop/computers for online classes for the needy Girl students at Women’s College (Rs 60 Lacs) and the Department of Biochemistry (Rs 18.9 Lacs), Faculty of Life Sciences, respectively.

In the past, AMUAA-GC contributed for the renovation of the reading rooms of the Women’s College library and sponsoring the smart classrooms. 

This year 2021, during the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, AMUAA-GC’s benevolent and generous contribution of Rupees twenty-one Lacs, forty thousand and six hundred fifty-nine (Rs 21, 40,659.00), exclusively for Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College of AMU is highly appreciated with gratitude.

Extending gratitude on the largesse, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said, “AMUAA-GC donation will be very beneficial to upgrade the existing health infrastructure for an effective Covid response”.

This donation is for the purchase of medical supplies and small devices and helping poor and needy patients during COVID-19 Wave II.
