NIT Mizoram PhD Admission:
The esteemed National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram is now accepting applications from enthusiastic individuals eager to pursue their PhD dreams during the January to June 2024 Session.

Eligibility Criteria:
For PhD in Engineering:
- Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology from a Recognized University/Institute, with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in qualifying examinations. Full-Time Regular candidates must also have a valid GATE score. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant field, having a minimum CGPA of 7.5 or 70% marks and a valid GATE score, are eligible.
For PhD in Science (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics):
- Aspiring scholars should hold a Master’s degree in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics from a recognized University/Institute, with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in the qualifying exams. Qualifying the NET/GATE is also required, though this requirement is waived for Sponsored, Self-Financed, Project-Staff, and Part-Time categories. Institute scholarships are not applicable to these student categories.
For PhD in HSS (Economics/English):
- Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Economics/English from a recognized University/Institute, with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale or 55% marks in the qualifying exams. Qualifying the NET is mandatory. SC/ST candidates enjoy a relaxation of 0.5 CGPA or 5% in marks.
Please note that conversions between CGPA and percentage are not permissible.
Application Procedure:
Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to submit their applications online at https://nitmzadmission.mastersofterp.in/PHDLogin.aspx. Detailed instructions, as well as the application form, are available on the online portal.
Applicants must upload self-attested copies of the necessary supporting documents and provide a receipt of the online payment (Rs. 200/- for General/OBC or Rs. 100/- for SC/ST) favoring “Registrar, NIT Mizoram,” payable at SBI, Bawngkawn Branch, Aizawl, Mizoram. Female candidates are exempt from the application fee.
