<h2>About</h2> Work leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is designed to help the candidate learn “how to think”. Further, it gives the candidate a thorough understanding of the field of research, through multiple methods. Granting of the degree is dependent upon the candidate’s grasp of the problem being tackled, along with having demonstrated an ability to do independent research. In addition, the candidate must have acquired the ability to successfully contribute to the existing body of knowledge in his or her broader field of study.
