ABOUT Master Of Urban And Regional Planning (MURP) :

The Key objective of the course is to equip the students with adequate skills required to comprehend urban and regional issues and to analyse physical, socio-economic, political and ecological dimensions of the human settlements. The course is designed to provide necessary exposure to various planning processes, emerging trends and other related advanced technical knowhow. It intends to contribute towards the creation of professionals in the field and hence to cater to the specific needs of the industry and academics. During the course, the students will be provided with ample opportunities to interact with the subject experts, relevant organizations, etc. The course enables the students to gain real time experience through their involvement in the on-going or live projects.

MURP is a two year Program consisting of four semesters. Its Academic structure is a combination of various subjects, which includes studios, labs, theory and field visits.

Following are the career opportunities for Planners:

A. Recruitment in state urban development department, urban development authorities, urban local bodies, state tourism development department.

B. With private consultants and at infrastructure development companies

C. Further specialization options open doors to various other sectors such as specialized as urban planner, regional planner, infrastructure planner, urban governance, project management, reform implementation and evaluation of large projects, mission mode projects and flagship programs initiated by government.
