Master of Science (MSc Integrated Biotechnology )

Eligiblity:

• 10+2 Science (HSC/CBSE/ICSE)
• For lateral Entry at B.S. level: B.Sc. (Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Botany / Zoology / Life Sciences / Biomedical Sciences /Bioinformatics/ Chemistry and other sciences); B. Pharm.; B.Sc. Agriculture; B. Tech. (Biotechnology and related streams). Student must be passed from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for backward class and physically disabled students)

Course Details:

This course provides an introduction to the basic components and techniques in the field of applied biology. The program has been structured to promote interdisciplinary studies in the areas such as Tissue engineering and stem cell technology, Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance, Bioinformatics and Data Analytics and Agriculture and Food Technology. The core part of the program provides comprehensive training in all basic sciences and interdisciplinary fields during the first four years. Students are expected to choose a specialization subject for the remaining two years where the curriculum is divided between core courses, and electives.

Apart from courses in specific subjects, some interdisciplinary courses are also offered in each trimester. These courses are in areas that are useful to multiple branches of science, or are in distinct areas like Tissue Engineering and Stem Cell Technology, Agricultural and Food Technology, Computational sciences, Bioinformatics, Environmental sciences, and Chemistry, etc. Courses in humanities & social sciences are also offered.

The integrated M.Sc. (Biotechnology) program also has the components of internship in IX trimester and the final year is fully dedicated for research projects which can be carried out at MIT-WPU/industry/research institutes in India and at Indiana University Purdue University, USA.
