About Indian Institute of Information Technology IIIT, Manipur

Indian Institute of Information Technology Manipur has been set up in order to develop Manipur as preferred destination for Information technology related manpower and industry. IIIT Manipur is starting its undergraduate degree courses in two disciplines, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from its transit campus located at Mantripukhri, adjacent to IT SEZ park in Imphal from current Academic year, July 2015. IIIT Manipur's permanent campus will come up at Ningthoupham village, Mayangkhang, Senapati district of Manipur.

Mentored by IIT Guwahati, Interim Director Prof. Amarendra Kumar Das is actively working and the transit complex is provided with all required infrastructure for overall development of the institute. IIIT Manipur is also looking for private/industry partner for the institute. It is also mandated to start Design and Manufacturing disciplines to positively contribute to Govt. of India mission of Act East and creating manufacturing hub in South East Asia.

Admission Procedure

Admission to IIIT Manipur will be purely on the basis of the All-India JEE (Main) examination administered by CBSE and the seat allocation will be through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates are required to qualify through JEE (Main) and students aspiring to join IIIT Manipur have to apply through JoSAA.

Facilities

IIIT Manipur is operating at present from its Transit Campus at Mantripukhri, Imphal. Although institute is in a transit campus, it has all facilities required for an institute of national importance such as state of the art lab, class rooms, wifi connected campus, Library, Auditorium, Hostels, faculty residences within the campus, play ground etc.

It has power back up both for the Academic complex and Hostels.
All faculty members including Director is resident of the campus and there is also a small guest house with a capacity to accommodate 12 persons. This will be useful for persons visiting IIIT Manipur including parents.

For the purpose of Medical Facilities, IIIT Manipur has entered into an MoU with Shija Hospital and Research Centre, This hospital will provide both indoor and outdoor medical facilities to students, faculty and staff members and their dependent in a cashless manner. However, for outdoor service, patients has to pay and claim reimbursement from IIIT Manipur.

Financial Assistance

IIIT Manipur will implement any scheme available from MHRD, GoI and any other agencies and State Governments.

Training & Placement

This is the second year of Academic Activity in the institute. IIIT Manipur will provide best Training and Placement possibilities with its link to IIT Guwahati, which is its Mentor Institute.
