The College of Agriculture (CAU), Imphal came into being from November 1993 with the issue of the Gazette notification by the Government of Manipur for deaffiliating the then Manipur Agricultural College from the Manipur University and subsequent notification of its taking over by the Central Agricultural University, Imphal. The college is situated in an extensive area of Iroisemba, the southwestern part of Lamphel at a distance of about 7 kms towards west from the Imphal city. The picturesque campus is surrounded by Langol hillocks to its western and northern sides. With the allotment of 281.37 acres of land to the university, development of experimental farm and other utility purposes can be made.
