Manipur Education

Manipur is also called as as Kangleipak and Sanaleibak. Manipur is credited with introducing Polo to Europeans. Manipur University is a central university with 72 affiliated colleges and one constituent college name MIT (Manipur Institute of Technology). The state has two universities named Manipur University and Central Agricultural University. It has one Medical College Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Lamphelpat.



The technical institutes in Manipur are - Manipur Institute of Technology, Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology; Government College of Technology; National Institute of Technology, Manipur; National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Imphal Centre (Formerly DoEACC Centre Imphal). The state also houses an agriculture college named Manipur Agriculture College. MIT offers specialized courses in Engineering.
