With the blessings of Late Yashvantraoji Chavan and established by Government of Maharashtra, to provide the technical education in rural area, Government College of Pharmacy is located on a beautiful sprawling campus of an eight acres near the bank of Krishna-Koyana river at Karad. Being the first Government Institution in Maharashtra, it has always experienced a distinguished identity among the other colleges. Affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, the college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education New Delhi, Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and Directorate of Technical Education, Maharshtra State, Mumbai., Right from the inception with the establishment of tiny department in the Government College of Engineering, Karad in 1964 to offer diploma course in Pharmacy, the college transformed into the post graduate research institute in pharmacy in 1995 with an independent existence. Currently, the college is offering four courses in pharmacy including Ph.D. programme., The college is well equipped with strong infrastructural, instrumental and library facilities as per the requirement of modern curriculum. The college has well qualified teaching and trained supporting staff working with perfect positive synchronized inertia for the betterment of students and society at large., In addition to that, many of our students have become an asset of foreign universities for higher education and alumni are chairing the positions as top professionals in various institutions, industries and contributing towards the strengthening of the healthcare system of the nation., The college has received research grants from State and Central Government funding agencies. The contribution of the teaching faculty for creating and sustaining the academic and research atmosphere in the college through their research publication in peer reviewed national and international journals is really appreciated., During the journey of five decades the college has achieved many a milestones.
