The Latthe Education Society, the parent body of the N. S. Law College, Sangli is established in 1951 in the name of Late Diwan Bahadur Annasaheb Latthe, the first Finance Minister of the then Bombay State. This College is established in 1969 with an object to provide facilities for the study of Law to the students of the Sangli District. The college is Government aided and permanent affiliation is granted by Shivaji University, Kolhapur and Bar Council of India.The college is housed in the Rajnemi Campus near Sangli Madhavnagar Bus Route. During last 33 years the College is imparting legal education on a scientific basis and has achieved the distinction of being an institution of repute in the field of legal education.Our management, ‘Latthe Education Society’ is a society registered under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 and Societies Registration Act, 1860. This parent body of our college was established in 1951 with the object of providing facilities for the education in various faculties, one among which was, legal education. Our management is an ideal one. All the members are well educated representing different fields of area. The Chairman, Shri. Suresh A. Patil, is an ex-Mayor of Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad Corporation. Adv. B. B. Khemlapure graces the office of Vice-Chairman. Our Honorary Teacher, Adv. V. S. Sakale is the treasurer and our former Principal, Shri. V.T. Chougule hold office of Honorary Secretary of the management. Our management encourages all teaching, non-teaching staff members and students to participate in number of academic and cultural acitivities. It conducts prestigious ‘Latthe Festival’ annually.
