S.N.D.T College Of Education, Pune was established in 1950 as a grant-in-aid unit of the S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Mumbai. And P.G. Department Of Education is established in 1962. Through dedicated efforts in developing teacher education, the college has evolved over 69 years and emerged as one of the best Teacher Education Institutions in the state of Maharashtra. To recognise the innovation in teaching learning and the exceptional work in the field of teacher education, the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) granted the status of Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE) to the college.

At SNDT College of Education, we strive to sharpen the skills and knowledge of pre-service teachers to fulfil needs of the changing educational scenario. The SNDT College of Education has always endeavoured to achieve excellence through inclusion of modern trends in the syllabus, innovative teaching learning practices and research. Demonstrating the efforts of buoyant leadership, highly qualified teaching faculty, dedicated administration staff and most importantly the enthusiastic students, the college has successfully acquired ‘A’ grade in April 2017 by NAAC.
