In 2009, The Foundation for Liberal and Management Education (FLAME) announced the establishment of a new School Performing Arts. This move was prompted by the success of the Foundation's thriving program of study in theatre, music and dance. Over the past few years, this has led to much
collaboration with renowned arts institutions worldwide critically acclaimed production tours both in India and abroad. We believe that the teaching and promotion of the performing arts must further benefit from the innovative methodology and practises encouraged and upheld by FLAME.
The undergraduate as well as post graduate program is rooted Vidyanidhee Vanarasein the philosophy of liberal education. Students pursuing a
Dean, FLAME School of Performing Arts program in theatre, music, dance or acting will also take some courses from humanities and social sciences, thus benefitting from a unique pedagogy and all round approach to learning.
Studying performing arts through a strong grounding in skills, development of insight and a disciplined approach will help the students to explore life and free their minds from unnecessary inhibitions. It also inculcates discipline and self-control. We believe that this process would create 'rasik' individuals and artists who have a responsibility to society as well as to themselves.
