B.Sc (Nursing) Duration: 4 years Seats : 30 seats

General Nursing & Midwifery Duration : 3 year Diploma Seats : 120 seats

Selected candidates had to sign a Agreement/Bond to serve in Military Nursing Service (MNS) for 5/4 years.

The applicants if selected had to refund entire cost of training in the event of withdrawal from course, termination of training or refusal to accept Commission in MNS, if offered. During training they are provided free ration, accomodation, uniform allowance and monthly stipend.

Eligibility: Female who is unmarried or divorced/legally separated/widow without encumbrances. Nationality: Indian Date of birth: Between 01 September 76 and 01 September 84 (Session 2000-1) Educational Qualification: Should have passed in FIRST ATTEMPT the complete Senior Secondary (10+2)/equivalent examination from recognised Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks as Regular student. Those who have passed such examination as Private students or with compartment is not eligible. Physical Standards: Medical Fitness will bw determined as per Military standards by Military Authorties. X-ray examination of Chest will be done. Minimum height should be 142 cms.

Selection: Eligible applicants are called for an objective type Written Test of 90 minutes duration covering the topics - General English, Biology and General Intelligence to be held in Dec 2000/Jan 2001 (For 2000-2001 Session). The parts of question paper pertaining to Biology and General Intelligence will be bilingual. Candidates as per merit on the basis of written test will be called for Interview during Feb/Mar 2001. Final selection will be as per combined merit, subject to medical fitness.

Medical Examination: After the interview the recommended candidates had to appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB), candidates declared TEMPORARY FIT/UNFIT were informed by the President of the Medical Board regarding the procedure for requesting REMEDICAL/APPEAL MEDICAL BOARD.

Written Examination Centres: Bangalore, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chandimandir, Kochi, Dehradun, Delhi, Danapur, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Jammu, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chennai, Secunderabad, Trivandrum and Vishakapatnam.

Note: If sufficient number of candidates were not available at any Centre, candidates opting that Centre were alloted the Centre of their second choice
