SIBER Alumni (Management)

With a strength of more than 3500 ex-siberities the SIBER ALUMNI is the pride of the Institute. The aim of this association is to stimulate the international network alumni of various years, students & staff of SIBER and the business community in general. It facilitates communication and creates the right circumstances for building a proper network.

Faculty and Research

Faculty is the real strength of any educational institute. The Institute has a committed full time faculty strength of 62. Besides, a number of visiting faculty drawn from industry, other reputed institution and Universities participate in the teaching process. About 37 of the full time faculty member possess Ph. D. Degrees in different fields of specialization. Many of these faculty members are recognized as research guides for M. Phil. & Ph. D. courses. The faculty also conducts EDP programmes, catering to the need of the industry.

The Institute is conscious of the need to promote research. Accordingly faculties for research leading to Ph. D. degree in areas of Commerce, Management, Economics, Social Work and Sociology as also inter disciplinary areas are provided in the Institute.

In order to ensure that the curricula, and the management and the other practices are able to complete ably in the open market, the Institute, as matter of academic policy, keeps updating them to bring them on par with the premium institutions. This always pays rich dividend to the students individually and to the institute as a whole.

The Computer Lab

The Computer Laboratory is equipped with the latest technology where the students are trained by the well-qualified faculty. The laboratory is quite spacious and houses four Pentium Servers - LAN Server, Windows NT Server, Unix Server and an Internet Server. 70 Nodes are attached to these servers - 30 nodes functioning on Windows NT, 30 on LAN environment and the rest on Unix environment. A separate EDP Division is in operation with two high configured Pentium Servers. These servers have been attached with 10 Nodes. The application software development and various kinds of data processing activities are being carried out to meet the continuous and ever growing requirements of various organizations. Keeping abreast with the changing time the Institute has gone in for the Internet facility too.

The Library

The biggest asset of the Institute is its magnanimous library which houses 31,000 volumes, apart from Indian and Foreign periodicals, valued at Rs. 18 lakhs. The library of the Institute is a place where faculty and students spend a good deal of their time. Hundred and sixty magazines and journals are subscribed for the knowledge seekers and mental stimulation which help updating the faculty and students.

Every year, this Institute spends substantial amount to add new books to the library. As a matter of policy, the Institute pays special attention to not only strengthening the library with additional books and journals, but also to ensure that they are used well by the students both for their courses as well as to extend their frontier of general knowledge.

Hostel Facility

The Institute provides separate hostels for men and women in the sprawling campus. The hostels have 85 rooms. Inmates have the facility of a hostel canteen which caters to the tastes of students from various states. There is an opportunity created for common room activities, which includes indoor games such as carom and table tennis.

The Campus

The Institute's campus has been built on an area of 11 acres. The campus is located in a picturesque surrounding away from the dust and din of Kolhapur city. Towards the east is the Army golf course, on the west stands the imposing structure of Shivaji University and garlanded by lust green meadows.

The academic complex consists of classrooms, audio-visual room, administrative wing and library. The management proposes centrally air-conditioned library with audio-visual facilities, in the near future.

Sports

The Institute provides various sports facilities to the students. Having won number of medals and trophies at the Inter-University level, various state level and national sporting events, the Institute has occupied an enviable position among the colleges under the Shivaji University. In hostels also there is a facility for indoor games such as carom and table tennis.
