Admission Notices

Established in 1970 by K.C.E. Society Jalgaon and affiliated to North Maharashtra University Jalgaon, we impart Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses in Law along with various Diploma Courses.

    Curricular Aspects :
The College was started with certain goals and objectives viz, to provide well in the world in order to meet ever-growing challenges, to make the law students responsible citizens and thereby contribute to the civic values of the society and the nation at large; to develop a sense of leadership in law students to face social challenges; to mould them into knowledgeable and skilful advocates competent to deal with the social problem with the help of legal knowledge and the spirit of law. For achieving these goal the college emphasizes on innovative methods in teaching and by introducing job oriented and need based courses in the curriculum. The college has started different courses suitable for employment specially self employment in the field of law. The College does create a sense of duty towards the community by upholding ethical and professional standerds in legal education and the realization of higher values of life to make the students responsible citizens and there by to contribute to the society and the nation at large. The College has set up links with the community by taking up diverse extension activities through different problems like legal aid clinic and legal literacy camps and community welfare activities in rural and remote areas of the region.
The College obtains feedback on a regular basis from outgoing students. Their suggestions are given due regard and considerations during the next revision of the curricula. Two of the faculty members of college who are members of the University Board the studies do put forth thease suggestions to the Board of studies as its meeting and tries to incorporate such suggestions in the curricula.

The College is regularly conducting Moot Courts, Moot Trials, Mock Assembly and Parliament Sessions in its premises to give practical training to the students, simultaneously holding Spoken English classes, extra classes for slow learning students etc. in an attempts to translate the students dream into reality. Thus fulfilling the aims and objectives of the Institution.

Teaching , Learning and Evaluation :
The students seeking admission are coming from rural and semi urban areas. The faculty members provide guidance to the students for selection of subjects out of the options available and a filling out admission forms wherever they face difficulties. The students are admitted in conventional as well as professional courses of law after clearing their qualifying examinations.
The College has adopted an integrated strategy for teaching consisting of lecture method in addition to tutorial, seminars, projects moot court, visit to various offices and courts and assignments.

The Students do take part in seminars and interact with each other on a given topic. In this way enthusiasm in teaching and learning process is maintained. The students regularly attends tutorials and solve their problem in a vary free and intimate atmosphere. The students are made to visit various concerned offices, Courts, Jails etc. and by this they bridge the gap between theory and practice. For evaluation of Students the College has adopted continuous assessment system, centralized tests are conducted in the College at the end of term / semester, classroom tests by the teacher is regular feature. Semester / Annual examination are conducted by the University.
To facilitate effective teaching and learning recently the College has introduced an academic calendar , which help students to plan their studies and make them aware of the different program to be conducted in the College.
The sanctioned strength of the faculty is 12 full time and 1 part time teacher. As against this, 5 full time teachers are in position while 7 full time posts are lying vacant. The College tries to make up this deficiency with the help of visiting faculty. 15 visiting teachers mostly drawn from the local bar render their service in the teaching of the various programs of the College.

Another commendable feature is that the College is organizing extra / remedial classes for the weaker students. Extra classes in spoken English for those deficient in English are really useful as most of the students have their earlier education through vernacular medium and are not able to catch up the teaching in the law College, where the medium of instruction according to the university rule is English.

The College is following self-appraisal scheme devised by the University. There is prescribed form to be filled by the teachers every year, after scrutiny of their forms, Principal discusses with the teacher and keep them informed about the improvements they need to make. There is also scheme of evaluation of the teachers by the students. Suggestion box is installed in the College. The data is collected, analyzed and findings are conveyed to the concerned teachers. The biparty evaluation technique makes teaching learning process more healthy.
The teachers are encouraged to attend seminars, workshops, conferences whenever they receive such invitations or come to know about such programs During the academic year, the faculty members have attended 7 such seminars.

    Research, Consultancy and Extension :
The College being a College for undergraduate studies in Law, the scope for research is limited. However, teachers are encouraged to undertake research . All the full time faculty members have registered as part time research scholars. In addition the research papers are being published by the faculty members in leading Law Journals. The College publishes annual College magazine- “Vidhyarth” which contains articles on legal issues and topics in interest by the students as well as the faculty.
The extension activity being conducted by the College needs to be commended. The College provide free legal aid and advice to the general public. The faculty members attend the Lok Adalats conducted by the District Legal Service Authority, Jalgaon as Panel Members. The College organizes many extension activities viz. Community Development, Legal Literacy Camps, Green Club, Blood Donation camps etc.
The College teachers are assigned additional charge of the extension activities. Apart from this the teachers have kept themselves busy in discharging social obligation e.g. arrange Blood donation camps with NGO like Madhavrao Golvarkar Blood Bank, of particular significance is the PRERNA YUVATI MANCH, organized by the students of the students of the College to create awareness about women rights and to serve the cause of women.
The College may consider taking positive steps to encourage research and paper publication by teachers. One reason for lack of such research activity may be full time teachers are overburdened.
The teaching and Co-curricular activities a modest beginning seems to have been made by some of the teachers, who regularly participate in seminars and conferences and a few paper presentations. It is good to note that despite all these, research culture is sought to be encouraged among the students e.g. the final year students are asked to write research essay. The best of them are given prizes and the essays are published in the College Magazine mentioned above.

    Student support and progression.
The College has an adequate infrastructure to support and ensure physical and intellectual well being of all its constituencies. It has qualified teaching faculty to provide counseling to students. Alumini association of the college is a strength and support in the functioning of the institution providing guidance to the students and cooperation to the Principal and faculty. The College undertakes program, based on healthy & hygiene awareness, AIDS awareness , Civic awareness, career development etc. There is a Debate Association run by the students apart from other activities such as Music Competition , ets are conducted thereby providing them opportunities to express their talents.
There is an effective mechanism for obtaining students feedback, evaluation by the students of the teachers and the functioning of the College. Recommendations are collected, scrutinized analyzed, and finally conclusions are communicated to the concerned to the concerned person to take effective steps for quality enhancement.

The College issues a prospectus in the beginning of the academic year before the starting of the admission. All the necessary information regarding the course the fee structure, college timing and other relevant information are incorporated in the prospectus. In addition , the faculty of students counseling is a regular feature of the college. It offers competent counseling with reference to academic prospectus and perspectives. Although there is no regular placement mechanism in the college but guidance is available. After completion of the study, the student can start their own professional practice as an advocate, tax consultant, or even Labour consultant.
Different types of financial aid in the form of scholarship are available from the State Government. The students of college come from various states of the society, and they are getting different categories of financial assistance, viz B.C. category, Freedom Fighter category, Service personnel category, physically handicapped category. Allocation of financial aid is effective. One more commendable scheme started by the college is Earn and Learn scheme. In the which college and make them self supporting. Thus they are made able to pursue higher education.

    Organization and Management :
The College has an efficient internal co-ordination and monitoring mechanism. The office and departments of the College are governed on the principal of participation and transparency. At the beginning of every academic year various committees are formed to perform manifold functions which contain academic and administrative planning in the college thus moves hand in hand.
For efficient running of administrative and academic activities, a meeting of the staff is conveyed at the beginning of the academic year and delegation of work is discussed. The college obtains feedback from the students on performance of the teachers, library facility, office and infrastructure.
Regular orientation programs are organized for the employees in the college. For continuous monitoring an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is constituted as per UGC guidelines in the college. Appropriate action are taken whenever needed.

Welfare schemes includes provision of loan facility from co-operative society of the management namely K.C.E. Society where in the staff of the college are enrolled as members.
