Late Ku. Durga K. Banmeru Science College is situated at world famous Lonar city recognized for its crater with salt water lake. College is run by Amrut Sevabhavi Sanshtha, Parbhani.

It was established in June 2000. The main purpose behind the establishment of this college is to educate the people of this educationally backward area where facility of higher educational.

In science was not available. In Lonar Taluka there are about 90 villages. Student from this area higher science education have to migrate to either Chikhali, Jalna, Akola or Washim which are 100-120 km. far from Lonar Boys can frequently go for it. but the people in this region not mentally prepared to send their daughters to other city. Hence girls have to leave their education. Amrut Sevahavi Santha, Parbhani has taken initiative & start this college in Lonar, Mehkar,& Risod Taluka at that time. Presently also, it is the only higher education institution for science in Lonar taluka.

At the beginning college started B. Sc course with the advanced subject such as computer science, chemical science Advanced subject & physical science. Later on in 2006 college start Microbiology from 2007-2008 college started B.B.A & from 2008-2009 course like B.C.A & M. Sc computer science.

College is developing step by step successfully. College has got permanent affiliation of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University in 2012-2013. College is included u/s 2f & 12B of UGC act in 2015. College is not only bind itself with provision of higher science education but also with the holistic development of the student. In order to achieve this, college is always in efforts to implement curricular, co-curricular or extracurricular activity. College not only achieving success in academic activity but also in co-curricular and extracurricular activity. College is now able to receive grants from UGC and utilizing it for the welfare of student of this college by providing finest environment for teaching, learning, research, innovation and character building.
