Located in GEA National College was founded on the 12th of May, 2002 in Guwahati with the noble purpose of enhancing the professional facet of the North-Eastern region by providing the professional job oriented courses to the aspiring students or individuals in Bachelor degree, Post Graduate degree and Diploma level to produce more and more professional and technical human resources in this region. The College is governed by GEA Educational Trust, Guwahati., The college has got recognition as a University Study Centre to execute various courses under Gauhati University (Assam) and Punjab Technical University (Panjab), A Full-Fledged Govt. University, Recognised By UGC, AICTE, DEC, AIU, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India., "GEA National College" is an educational wing/unit of "GEA Group of Institutions" which was established under Societies Registration Act.XXI of 1860, Govt. of India. The main motto of the society is to provide educational services to the people of Assam and North-East India. However, students from other places of India are also studying at GEA National College in large numbers., Since its establishment, the institution has been running Certificate and Diploma level courses in the field of Information Technology and Paramedical (Medical Laboratory Technology & Physiotherapy)., In the year 2016, the Government of Assam permitted the institution to start a Para-Medical College in the fields of Physiotherapy & Medical Laboratory Technology., Subsequently in May 2017, the College got affiliation from the one & only Government health University of Assam i.e. “Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences” under which all medical colleges of Assam are running their courses including Gauhati Medical College (GMC), Assam Medical College (AMC) and Silchar Medical College (SMC)., The institution has a high class infrastructure for the departments of Medical Laboratory Technology and Physiotherapy. Our paramedical departments, its laboratories and its infrastructures are approved by Directorate of Medical Education (DME) and Department of Health and Family Welfare, Gove. of Assam., Apart from that, the College had run various Distance Education courses earlier under some prestigious Universities like Gauhati University IDOL, DDE Dibrugarh University, K.K. Handique State Open University. Presently the College is also working on a project to start some new courses under Gauhati University. In this regard, the College authority has already got the approval from Assam Government to open the College. The institution is also running an examination centre of Dibrugarh University at its premises vide Dibrugarh University's letter no.DU/EX/Permission/Centre/12/473 dated 18.01.2012..
