Founder-Syt.Mandeliaji was a man whose quick uptake , dedication, devotion, integrity, in depth study of problems and a commitment to excel in any assignment entrusted upon him with human approach enabled him to scale great heights. He shall always be remembered as a pioneer amongst the builders of modern India.

Syt. Mandelia ji had a special attachment and love for Gwalior, he was instrumental in developing Gwalior as an industrial centre. He always said- “ Pilani in may Janmabhoomi(Birthplace) and Gwalior in my Karmabhoomi(Workplace)

The Birla Institute of Medical Research was registered as a charitable trust in the year 1983. It is located in 7.9 acres of picturesque lush green surroundings. Syt. Mandeliaji’s vision and foresight has given birth to this modern institute which in addition to providing super specialty health care has developed into a strong job oriented institute. The combination of health care and allied medical education complements each other.BMIR College of Life Sciences is functioning from a new 62,000 square feet ultramodern building with a very well stocked library, spacious classrooms, fully equipped labs and computer labs.

BMIR Nursing College was established in 2004 . Today it is functioning in a new 72,000 square feet ultra modern building with spacious classrooms, well equipped labs and a well stocked library. The colleges have a team of well- qualified and dedicated faculty.

Within a short span of 24 years under the inspiratory, sagacious and dynamic leadership of our founder chairman and chairman Emeritus –Late Shri Durga Parsadji Mandelia and our present Chairman Shri. Balgopal Mandelia has developed into an institution of high repute. It is recognized not only in the city of Gwalior but also in the whole of Madhya Pradesh.
