The Government Engineering College, Bhopal was established in July, 1986 with the approval of the Government of India. It has come a long way since then, when the initial intake was just thirty students. Today, the Institute accepts 180 students each year into its 3 undergraduate courses. Government Engineering College, on 31st June, 1997, has got its own huge and spacious building. Now Government Engineering College is declared autonomous by the State Government Of Madhya Pradesh and is renamed as Bhopal Engineering College(BEC). BEC has occupied it's new 225 acre campus at Gandhi Nagar, a developing residential area of Bhopal and is further increasing its fame.Bhopal Engineering College, also called BEC Bhopal, was established in July, 1986 with the approval of the Government of India as Government Engineering College, Bhopal. It has been declared autonomous by the State Government of Madhya Pradesh and is renamed as Bhopal Engineering College (BEC). The college is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal.

Bhopal Engineering College accepts hundreds of students each year into its various undergraduate courses. BEC has occupied it's new 225 acre campus at Gandhi Nagar, a developing residential area of Bhopal and is further increasing its influence in the engineering stream. The college imparts engineering courses at the undergraduate level to its students.
