Established in 1958 by the Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam constituted by the S.N.D.P. Yogam. The sanctioned strength of trainees is 150. Since several decades we are maintaining a state of the art infrastructure. University of Kerala allowed us to start M.Ed and Research Programmes. Guru means "The one who removes darkness"Darkness symbolizes the inability to see the reality. The state of mind, entangled in delusions and tendencies. Guru is that inner light which dispels all these clouding from the mind. Thus the self itself shines forth, and radiate joy, peace and love which are its true nature.

SREE NARAYANA TRAINING COLLEGE, Nedunganda,
founded in the name of His Holiness Swami Sree Narayana Guru by the Sree Narayana Trusts, came into existence in 1958. This is the only aided teacher education college founded under the auspicious Sree Narayana Trust. The college is affiliated to the University of Kerala Our prestigious institution has been moulding efficient and progressive teachers for the last four decades. The NAAC accreditation at B++ level is an added jewel to the golden crown of our college. Our college stands for "Enlightenment through Education" and endeavours in the make up of humane, intellectually accomplished, morally awakened and socially committed fraternity of teachers.

Sree Narayana Training College is located at Nedunganda near Varkala,a world famous tourist center in India. Nedunganda is a serene village in Thiruvananthapuram District, Kerala. It is 6 km to the south of Varkala, and 2 km to the north of the famous historical place, Anjuthengu. Easy rail and road access makes the place an ideal location for a post graduate teacher education institution. More over nearness to Sivagiri Mutt, the sanctum sanctorum of His Holiness Sree Narayana Guru, the Universal Guru who propagated "One caste, One Religion, One God " adds to its grace.

DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY
Educational psychology is included in Teacher education to provide the basic knowledge of child psychology to the future teachers so that they are able to carry out their role in school effectively. It also give some idea regarding the practical aspects of psychology like testing the different personality traits including intelligence, personality, aptitude, adjustment, attitude, creativity, etc. Inorder to fulfill this aim of teacher education, our college is also having a well equipped lab in psychology and it is functioning in a full-fledged manner. Our students have conducted tests to measure the intelligence of high school students in various practicing schools during their teaching practice. All of our students are aware of the use of psychology lab and they are very keen too. Through the use of this lab, they could do their practical works( practicum) in psychology meaningfully, which would have been futile if there is no such a lab. The only limitation we are experiencing, as every teacher education institution faces today is the lack of sufficient time to conduct all practicals in psychology. We are so particular in maintaining the standard of our institution and psychology lab is only a part of the other infrastructure facilities in the college. The lab consists of test items to measure intelligence, aptitude, attitude, adjustment, creativity, interest, concept formation, values and personality. The list of test materials is attached.
