Majlis Arts and Science College, Puramannur is a premier Higher Educational Institution run by Al MajlisuLiddahwathilIslamiya. It is a Postgraduate College in the Self-financing stream, the first of its kind in Malappuram District. The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut, approved by the Government of Kerala, and recognized under section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956. The college is located in a lush green campus sprawling over 25 acres of land at Puramannur in IrimbiliyamGramaPanchayath, 7 km north east of Valanchery and 1.5 km away from the Valanchery-Perintalmanna Road. The campus with its scenic and serene environs is conducive for higher education., The college started functioning in 1995 with 4 UG programmes and elevated to a Postgraduate College in 2001 with the introduction of M.Sc. Computer science along with B. Com with Computer Application and BBA programmes. The college soon grew to a full-fledged institution distinctly different from other colleges, offering programmes catering to the needs of the student community in the new millennium. While striving to live up to the expectations of the society, the institution has made quantum leaps in its academic pursuit. At present the college offers 15 undergraduate and 7 postgraduate programmes., 50% of seats are filled in open merit strictly in accordance with the norms and regulations of the University and the remaining 50% is reserved for Management quota out of which 20% is set apart for the poor deserving orphans and destitute students with full fee concession. The college has all the infrastructural facilities such as furnished classrooms, administrative office, well equipped laboratories, multimedia studio, well stocked library and a ladies hostel.
