NSS Hindu College, Changanacherry, the Saraswathy Kshethram in the land of Anchuvilakku, stands tall among the premiere academic institutions of Kerala.Inspired and founded by Shri Mannathu Padmanabhan, it is beacon of light to thousands of students in and around Changanacherry. From a humble beginning it has grown into an impressive edifice in a short span of time.

Established in 1947, it is one of the largest colleges under Mahatma Gandhi University. It runs 14 graduate, 11 post graduate and 3 add-on courses. Three research departments in the college add to the pursuit of academic excellence. The college, with 125 teachers, 65 non teaching staff and 2200 students, is striving to maintain the high profile it has earned. The college is very ably assisted, by the management, in the endeavors to realize its cherished mission and vision. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Re-accredited the Institution at B++ level in 2006. Today, even after several years of establishment, NSS College is on its path of lighting the candle of knowledge and wisdom to the upcoming generations adding sense to its vision - 'Thamaso Ma Jyothirgamaya'.

Mission of the College
The college has been addressing the intellectual, emotional and educational needs of the people of different sections in the society over the last six decades. It enlightens the society through myriad and diverse academic and non-academic endeavours which go a long way towards sensitising the people and triggering all round prosperity and development. Concerted efforts, well designed programmes aim at widening the mental horizons of the younger generations and in preparing them to participate in the process of nation building.

Vision of the College
In a knowledge society which ensures the empowerment and enrichment of all sections, the generation, diffusion, preservation and utilisation of knowledge become imperative. By moulding the minds of children at a very impressionable age, it is hoped that the college can ensure an uninterrupted supply of socially, intellectually and emotionally trained human capital who would play a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of the nation.
