Nirmala College of Pharmacy established in 2004, is managed by Catholic Diocese of Kothamangalam, Kerala under Nirmala College Society(Reg.No.ER 928/2001).The Catholic Diocese of Kothamangalam has a few more prestigious institutions like Nirmala College , (Muvattupuzha) Newman College , (Thodupuzha) Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology, (Vazhakulam) St.Thomas Training College (Mylacombu) and other technical institutions. The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University , Kottayam, Kerala, with the motive of becoming a model institution for pharmacy education within the state and the country. NIP is a christian minority institution established in 2004 as a memorial of the diocesian golden jubilee. It is managed by the Catholic diocese of Kothamangalam under Nirmala College Society. (Reg. No. ER.928/2011).

At present the College is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. This college is approved by Govt. of Kerala. All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.
