DVS College of Arts and Science, a First Grade College was opened on the 1st of July 1966. Initially the college offered only one Science combination along with the traditional courses in humanities. But the college felt the need to respond to the changing scenario of the society and opened many need based courses over the years. Now the institution offers three different courses (B.A, B.Sc and B.C.A) with a variety of combinations. Earlier the college was affiliated to University of Mysore and now it is affiliated to Kuvempu University.
