D.Ed - DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION

AFFILIATED TO KARNATAKA SECONDARY EDUCATION EXAMINATION BOARD (KSEEB) AND RECOGNIZED BY NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR TEACHER EDUCATION (NCTE) AND GOVERNMENT.

Course Duration: 2 years regular full time programme.

Eligibility: Students those who have completed 10 + 2 with 50% marks in Aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST candidates) are eligible for D.Ed. course.

FACULTY

The college has highly qualified and experienced professional faculty comprising doctorates and post graduates in their respective fields. The college has a panel of eminent visiting faculty, who include reputed practitioners, experts and consultants. To guarantee a high quality and up-to-date study programme, guest lectures, viva and seminars are organized and regular meetings are held.

LABS & STUDIOS

The college has developed several labs for the various subjects to provide students with the best exposure and practical training. Each lab is furnished with the latest equipment and machinery. The college has full fledged Central Workshop, Mechanics & Kinematics Lab, Materials Testing & Strength of Materials Lab, Electrical Science Labs, Electronics Lab, Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Pharmachemistry Lab, Pharmacognosy Lab, Pharmaceutics Lab, Physiology & Anatomy Lab, Machine Shop, Microbiology Lab, Fundamental Nursing Lab, Design Studio, Fashion Lab, Garment Workshop, Computer Lab with Internet, Food & Beverage Production Lab and Food & Beverage Service Lab.

The college has Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with connected industries, hotels, hospitals and institutions to give a practical edge to the training and also gain recognition and placements.

SCOPE AND PROSPECTS

India is one of the most populous countries in the world and a majority of the population in India is still illiterate. With both the government and private sector giving a lot of prominence for primary and higher education, the opportunities are immense in the field. Teaching is a well paid and dignified profession. Innumerable new schools are opening every year and there is a severe shortage of teachers to run these schools. After completing B.Ed. course, the candidate can get employment as a school teacher any where in India. Teachers can also be self employed as private tutors working on part time basis. Trained teachers are in great demand all over the world and the opportunities are ample in developed countries too, especially in U.K. and Australia.

Library:

Libraries have been forced to undergo drastic changes during the last few years. While the traditional library was mainly a space for physical books and journals, the library of today has developed into a “world library” with access to enormous numbers of information sources. The ability to find, evaluate and use information is a skill that is rapidly becoming more important in the digital age. A student or researcher that has these skills gets significantly more value from their study and research.
