Government First Grade College for Women, Holenarasipura is one of the premier institutions in the district of Hassan. It is surrounded by greenery and situated on the banks of river Hemavathi at a distance around 33 Km from district head quarters Hassan. It has a green lavishing campus with a land area of around 3.36 acres and built up area of 3666.0 sq.m. spread over 3 blocks comprising academic facilities like 45 classrooms, 4 laboratories, 2 administrative rooms, two seminar hall, 4 rooms for support services, 2 library halls & reference sections it was established in 2006 and affiliated to Mysore University, it to impart education to the economically & socially backward community of the region. Started with B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, B.B.A, & PG Courses like MA in (Economics, Kannada) & M.Com, Women Studies, M.Lib. Science. The student strength of the college increased from 160 to 1400 in a span of 12 years. Most of the students of our college are SC, ST and backward community. Sufficient land is the strength of the college to develop it to the national standard by providing modern infrastructure and ICT facility in coming years. It is governed by the Department of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Karnataka. The college has obtained UGC recognition under 2(f) in 18-06-2013 and it was accredited by NAAC in February 2017 at B+ Grade with CGPA 2.61.
