Available College Facilities & Amenities

The Institute has an excellent e-library that serves as a knowledge resource to the need of the teachers and students.
Sports facilities are available in the campus. Annual Sports event is held in the month of December in every year
Good transportation facilities for its students, staff members and visiting guests.
The college provides two Gents and two Ladies Hostels in the campus. The hostiles will be provided items with chairs, tables, cots, cupboards. Hostel is provided with tap water from the Municipal corporation as well as through bore installed in the campus. Water facility is available through out 24 hours. Hot water facility is meant for each hostelite. Mess is run on contract system. It is arranged such that students can take meals conveniently without affecting the classes during lunch breaks. Breakfast and Tea will also be served in the mess and for this extra amount is to be paid. Only vegetarian food is available in the mess. Application forms are available in the Hostel office. Apart from this, the campus also has many cafeteria to cater the needs of the students at different time intervals. They provide tea, coffee, snacks and biscuits. Many small stores are also there in the campus which provide the immediate needs of students for inmates of the hostel.
RULES
Inmates should be present inside the Hostel before 7.30 p.m.
Without the permission of the superintendent of the Hostel, no inmate is allowed to go out of Dharwad City Premises.
No electrical appliances are to be used in the Hostel Room.
Boarding in the Hostel Mess is not compulsory . Cooking in the rooms is not permitted.
Guests are not permitted to say in Hostel Rooms without the prior permission of the Hostel Superintendent.
Consuming alcohol, non vegetarian food & Smoking are strictly prohibited.

The students of J.S.S. College have been the recipients of numerous scholarship and fee concessions various types of assistance awarded by Govt, of India and Karnataka and other Donors. Usually 60% of J.S.S. students enjoy one or the other types of concessions. However it should be clearly understood that a student has to earn a scholarship or its renewal by virtue of his/her performance in studies and behaviour (For details see Appendix III)
The principal may not recommended a student for any of the Scholarship or for the renewal scholarship if he/she.
Is irregular in attendance.
Does not show sufficient progress in studies.
Remained absent himself/herself from class examination/test assignments/practicals etc. without proper reasons.

The college offers National Cadet Corps (NCC) training to the students. Students are advised to enroll themselves for NCC which has been functioning efficiently. Students with NCC Certificate get an extra credit while seeking opportunities for higher education or employment. The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the College aims at involving the youth in the service of the community and its development. Young men who offer and spare their time, talent and energy to voluntary social work get a feeling of being useful to community. NSS unit educates one self through service. The NSS unit of JSS College has a fine record of service for several past years which is remembered all in the villages adopted during the NSS annual camps. The National Service Scheme (NSS) of the College aims at involving the youth in the service of the community. NSS training fulfills the social responsibility of student and make them responsible citizens.
Every Student of the College is a member of the College Union and Gymkhana. The Principal and the members of the teaching staff are also members of the Student Union and Gymkhana. The objectives of the Union are two fold, to provide opportunities to the students to assume important responsibilities and to authorize themselves in the conduct of extra curricular activities. Union enables the students fraternity to enjoy the privilege of planning and managing their own affairs of activities conducted throughout the academic year in various associations formed through their representatives. The Principal of the college will be an ex-officio President of the Union & Gymkhana and two senior members of the staff, to be nominated by the President will be the vice-presidents, General Secretary, Deputy General Secretaries and other Secretaries will be nominated by the Principal and the Management Committee formed for this purpose will decide the various posts to be allotted to students representatives on the basis of merit as it is stated in the Union & Gymkhana constitution. The selection of the representative students fraternity is based on the performance of them in their examinations along with their talents.
Though Physical Education is not included as one of the subject in the University curriculum, still due importance is given to physical activities in the college, to help students community to maintain healthy body. The students who are physically fit will have sound mind and will be good at studies also. The students involved in the sports activities will cultivate good habits and competition. They will accept win and loss in the games. They will learn more from fields. The sports provides them to participate in many tournaments indoor or outdoor in local places, in different zones of university, inter university, state and at national levels. They can become state and national level players in various games. They have many opportunities to travel country wide, meet different people with different features and then enrich their general knowledge.
