R.V. Teachers College is the first Grant in Aid College in the State of Karnataka founded in the year 1954. It is affiliated to Bangalore University and is recognized by National Council of Teacher Education. It is offering two year B.Ed program with four semesters and it is also a Study centre for Karnataka State Open University for part time M.Ed program. The college has published two volumes of M.Ed Dissertations abstracts conducted in the college from 1974 to 2009., It is also a research centre with recognized Ph.D guides. Our research centre has helped in awarding Eleven Ph.D's and few M.Phil's. We are planning to publish the Ph.D research Abstract by compiling the out comes of the research studies.The college has well an equipped library with 22000, volumes of books and 75 educational journals., The Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust is a pioneer organization in the state to start the first private Teachers College in the erstwhile Mysore State. It was the vision of our founder Secretary of R.S.S.T. Late M.C. Shivananda Sharma a great patriot and freedom fighter. He felt the need for starting a College of Education to nurture the spirit of nationalism among the teachers. His sincere efforts took the shape of R.V. Teachers College in 1954. It is a grant in aid institution affiliated to Bangalore University and recognized by the NCTE., Mission, The R.V.T.C aims at becoming the best teacher education institution in the Country by providing excellent curricular input, through innovative techniques.
